Introduction
The Auqaf department is a
self financing autonomous body under the Provincial
Government. It generates its financial resources
from the Waqf Properties through collection
of rents/lease money and incurs expenditure
mainly for maintenance and management of mosques,
shrines which are under its administrative
control, apart from other pious and charitable
activities.
The affairs of the Auqaf Department and its
functions are regulated by NWFP Waqf Properties
Ordinance 1979 and rules made hereunder.
The Secretary to Government of NWFP, Auqaf
department acts as ”Chief Administrator
Auqaf” and the Administrator Auqaf NWFP
words under him as Head of the Organization
assisted by the Project director, Deputy Administrators
and other field staff.
