Awareness
Raising of environmental
awareness among the society through electronic
and press media is a project, which has been
sponsored by environment department Govt.
of NWFP and will be executed by environmental
protection agency (EPA) in NWFP at a cost
two million for two years, under the supervision
of Deputy Director (EIA)
Many of the environmental problems are created
by human beings either due to ignorance or
their un awareness about environmental issues
or due to irresponsible attitude towards the
maintaining the environment. Protection of
environment is one of the constitutional obligations.
As part of the mass awareness responsibility
EPA , NWFP needs to provide education and
information to public on environmental pollution
problem through mass media.

Promotes mass awareness through advertisements,
documentaries and programmes.
Educational
Institutions
Environmental clubs established in 20 Govt.
schools of Peshawar.
Workshops/Seminars
- A series of workshops regarding PEPA 97
and environmental rules/regulations and
judicial procedures were arranged for judicial
magistrates
- Sector specific workshops concerning PEPA
97, rules and regulations for Self-Monitoring
& Reporting, Pollution Charge and Cleaner
Production techniques were arranged for
main industries of NWFP.
