The department is in the process of new agreement with a private firm for the running of    already established Tax Facilitation Center (TFC) in Peshawar and setting up of two new    Tax Facilitation Centers in Mardan and Abbotabad. These centers are likely to become    functional in the beginning of May, 2004.

The department is processing a case whereby the supply of Motor Vehicles Registration    Number Plates to the motor vehicles owners will resume and Networking system will be    established to check all types of irregularities in the vehicles related transactions.

The department will soon be inviting fresh bids for the award of contract for the recovery    of Tobacco Development Cess for the year 2002-2005 from the open market.

The department is in the process of filling up a large number of posts of Excise &    Taxation Officers, Inspectors, Key Punch Operators and a Computer Programmer. The job    has been assigned to NWFP Public Services Commission which has already advertised    these posts
