joint delegation of elected representatives of Kohat and Hangu districts and

Parliamentary Secretary for Industries & Production, Pir Dilwar Shah, Mr.

Qayyum, the Acting Vice Chancellor of Kohat University of Science and

"Approximately three lac ton of wheat would be procured during the coming season across the province – Minister for Food "
The
NWFP Minister for Food, Muhammad Shuja Khan here Tuesday has disclosed that
approximately three lac ton of wheat would be procured during the coming season
across the province, directing the concerned authorities that no leniency would
be tolerated in this regard.
He was speaking the participants of
a meeting convened to discuss and review the new wheat crop procurement
methodology by the food department. Secretary Food and Director Food also
attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed at length the
previous, current and future strategy about the production of wheat crop. The
provincial minister, on this occasion, directed the concerned authorities of
food department to ensure supply of wheat immediately to the district chitral
just after opening of Lowari Top.

Year Regular candidates from Malakand Division) conducted by the Board of
Technical Edcuation Peshawar with effect from 4-11-2009 to 4-1-2010 was declared today the
9-3-2010. As many as 8483 candidates appeared in the Ist, 2nd and 3rd
year examination. Out of these 4597 candidates have been declared successful
and thus the passing percentage is 55%.

Talking on the occasion the Governor briefed the
guests about the prevailing situation in the province and FATA especially in
wake of the successes of the government for
curbing militancy and terrorism. Matters relating to the ongoing efforts
for rehabilitation of the IDPs and reconstruction of the affected areas also
came under discussion and the Governor said that a comprehensive plan had been
chalked out in line with the available resources. Responding to a point the

"Chief Minister NWFP has approved Rs. 0.360 million for conducting feasibility study and designing of a bridge on Narangi Nullah at Kalu Khan, District Swabi."
Chief
Minister NWFP Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has approved Rs. 0.360 million for
conducting feasibility study and designing of a bridge on Narangi Nullah at
Kalu Khan, District Swabi.
The
feasibility study and designing of the scheme will be carried out during the
current financial year (2009-10) as a non-ADP scheme while the reconstruction
work of the bridge will be included in the next year ADP. The scheme will be
completed at a total cost of Rs. 36.570 million.
It
may be mentioned here that the Chief Minister, during his visit to the flood
affected area of District Swabi, had directed for early reconstruction of the
bridge that was damaged due to heavy flood in August last.

The
Federal Minister for Environment, Mr. Hamidullah Jan Afridi called on the NWFP
Governor, Mr. Owais Ahmed Ghani at Governor’s House, Peshawar on Saturday.
Mr.
Hamidullah Jan Afridi who is MNA from Khyber Agency, remained with the Governor
for some time and discussed matters pertaining to bringing normalization in the
area in wake of successes of the security forces against militants in tehsil
Bara of the Agency.
Talking
on this occasion, the Governor said, an encouraging situation is emerging,
wherein, the concerns of the law abiding citizens will be addressed amicably.
He expressed the hope that the business activities as well as the educational
institution in Tehsil Bara will be opened in near future.

Managing Director, Sarhad Tourism Corporation (STC) Azam Khan who is also

agreement. NWFP Minister for Tourism, Archives, Culture and Sports, Syed Aqil

years with an amount of 202.6 million rupees.

Senate of University of Peshawar, met under the chairmanship of NWFP Governor,

sophisticated system to identify any malpractice in this respect and ensure

"Political Administration Khyber Agency has completed a number of community welfare schemes – FATA Media Cell "

Agency has completed a number of community welfare schemes which will benefit
large number of communities in various far flung areas in each tehsil of Khyber
Agency.
The irrigation channels
have been rehabilitated for the community of Qaiser Kili and Karna Khel Kili
Ghundai Malik Din Khel area in Bara of Khyber Agency.

Fata Media Cell said that these schemes will benefit 21000 individuals of these

"Source Rock Mapping and Investigation for Hydrocarbon Potential in FATA"
The NWFP Governor Mr. Owais Ahmed Ghani Monday
appreciated the advancement in the process of investigation for the hydrocarbon
potential in FATA and desired that the process should be further accelerated.
“The achievement so far made in this regard should be
fully exploited by generating interest of the investors for exploration”, he
said while presiding over a meeting to review the physical progress under the
project “Source Rock Mapping and Investigation for Hydrocarbon Potential in
FATA”. The meeting held at Governor’s House here discussed the progress under
the project and implementation on the decision taken during the last review
meeting. Coordinator of the project Dr. Fazal Rabbi Khan in his presentation
informed that data generation and map digitization of different areas had been
completed and a total of 42 well locations had been marked on regional

3rd meeting of steering committee of FATA Development Authority was

NWFP Governor, Mr. Owais Ahmed Ghani has strongly condemned the suicide bomb
attack in Tehsil Tall of District Hangu on Friday and expressed his deep shock
and sorrow over the loss of precious lives. He has described the incident a
highly cowardly act of terrorism. “This
gruesome act on the sacred day, wherein even women and children have been hit,

decrease in petroleum products prices, the Provincial Transport Authority NWFP
has revised the fares of various vehicles plying on inter provincial, intra
city routes and has directed all the secretaries of the Regional Transport
Authorities in the province to implement the new fares on their respective
jurisdiction. They have further been directed to display the new fare tables at
visible places in General Bus Stands at their jurisdiction and inside passengers
vehicles for information of the transporters and passengers while the violating transporters,

The Provincial Govt has decided to conduct transparent and impartial
inquiry of the funds utilization of the former Nazims at District, Tehsil and
Union Council level while necessary directives have been issued to all the DCOs
to submit fact finding reports to the Govt: in this regard.

of ANP Bashir Ahmad Blor while chairing a meeting of the DCOs and District
Administrators of all over the province at Civil Secretariat Peshawar on

Taking strict action on public
complaints registered regarding encroachments, over-charging and adulteration
etc, committees at Town level were constituted by District Coordination
Officer, Peshawar
to carry out special campaign. The committees were asked to submit a report
within a week time positively for onward communication to the provincial
government.
Campaign for removal of
encroachments on circular road was jointly launched by the TMA Town-I
and Peshawar Development Authority. As a result major position of the circular
road was cleared by demolishing the houses required for widening of the road
and debris removed. The operation for the removal of encroachments/debris is in

Syed Jawad Hussain, MNA from
Orakzai Agency called on the NWFP Governor. Mr. Owais Ahmed Ghani at Governor’s
House, Peshawar
on Thursday.
Syed Jawad Hussain who was
accompanied by his father Haji Jamal Hassan who is also a renowned tribal
elder, remained with the Governor for some time and apprised him some of the
problems being faced by the internally dislocated persons from Orakzai Agency
and requested him to resolve their grievances.
The Governor, while talking on
this occasion especially referred to the points raised by them with regard to
redressal of grievances of the IDPs and said, that every possible efforts is
already underway to ease the situation in the agency and enable them to return
to their homes at the earliest.#

The provincial
government decided to launch a crash but comprehensive anti-encroachment drive
in all the towns of the provincial metropolis Peshawar to cope with the increasing traffic
and hygiene problems while special task has been assigned to the district,
town, traffic and regular police administrations asking them to start work
immediately in a disciplined manner.
It was decided
in a meeting chaired by the Provincial Senior Minister and Parliamentary Leader
of ANP Bashir Ahmad Bilour at his office Civil Secretariat Peshawar on
Thursday. The meeting was attended by the DCO and Administrator of Peshawar Siraj Ahmad
Khan, Director General PDA Qazi Laeeq Ahmad, Director Engineering Eng.
Aminuddin, Director District Coordination Shah Alam Khan, Administrators of all

"Government will continue to fight terrorism and extremism – Minister for Information "
The Pukhtoonkhwa
Minister for Information & Public Relations, Transport and IPC, Mian
Iftikahr Hussain has said his government will continue to fight terrorism and
extremism to the end and hopefully we will triumph. His government has the
will, the determination and the requisite commitment to banish extremism and
terrorism., he added.
He was
addressing a seminar organized by Pakistan Press Clubs Association at Committee
Room of the House of Common United Kingdom. The topic of the seminar was “Taliban, Pakistan

"Physical tests for posts of ASI in Police Department will be held on 2, 3-3-2010 – Public Service Commission"
According
to press release of the NWFP Public Service Commission, the physical test for
the posts of ASI in Police Department for those candidates of District Swat,
Buner, Dir Upper and Lower, Shangla,
Bajour
Agency and Malakand Agency who remained absent in the physical test held in May
and June 2009 due to law and order situation and frequent imposition of curfew,
will now be held on 2 and 3-3-2010 at 9:00 AM at the office of NWFP Public
Service Commission, 2 Fort road Peshawar Cantt. Call

"NWFP Governor appreciated timely response of NWFP Branch of Pakistan Red Crescent Society"
The NWFP Governor, Mr. Owais
Ahmed Ghani, while appreciating timely response of the NWFP Branch of Pakistan
Red Crescent Society in reaching to the affected people of Bagro Dara of
Kohistan who have been badly suffering because of avalanche recently and
providing them immediate health coverage, has expressed the hope that it will
maintain the standards.
The Governor, who is also the
Provincial President of the society, in a meeting held at Governor’s House, Peshawar has also assured
to extend every possible support to the society in future as well. Meanwhile, an helicopter of Pak Army,
carrying relief goods under the arrangements of the society has already left
from Peshawar for Kohistan which includes, wheat, flour, rice, pulses,
vegetable oil, sugar, salt, tea and dates.

Following the
decrease in petroleum products prices, the Provincial Transport Authority NWFP
has revised the fares of various vehicles plying on inter provincial, intra
city routes and has directed all the secretaries of the Regional Transport
Authorities in the province to implement the new fares on their respective
jurisdiction. They have further been directed to display the new fare tables at
visible places in General Bus Stands at their jurisdiction and inside passengers
vehicles for information of the transporters and passengers while the violating transporters,
drivers may be brought to book under intimation to the office of the PTA.
