The Directorate General Mines & Minerals has made the following achievement through    implementation of development schemes.

Geological evaluation of dimension stones (marble, granite etc) in the province. The    province has about 3 billion ton estimated resource of dimension stones for basing    mining and processing industries.

Exploration and evaluation of gemstone resources mainly Swat emerald belt and Chitral    aquamarine-topaz-garnet-tourmaline belt. The work is in progress and the survey team    has identified.
