DDWP on 26/03/2005 at a total cost of
Rs. 22.700 Millions revise on 25/4/2007
at a total cost of Rs.28.588 Millions. |

Objectives
of the Project |

Implementation
of the following applications at the Directorate
of Transport /Traffic Police which would
help in providing better services to citizens
and it would also make Directorate of
Transport / Traffic Police functioning
more efficiently, smoothly and transparently. |

Introduce the concepts of e-government. |

1. Lerner
Driving permits issuance. |

2. Driving Test. |

3. All Driving Licenses
(Motor Cycle, motor Car, Public HTV, LTV
etc.) for locals and foreigners would
be issued from centralized location, through
which fake license would be controlled. |

4. Duplication and renewal
would be possible from anywhere in the
province. |

5. Online Ticketing

Installation of Local
Area Network with provision of Hardware
required for operation of the proposed
applications within the Directorate
of Transport /Traffic Police HQ and
all District offices would be connected
through web and dialup. This will make
maximum resource utilization. |

Provision
of extensive training on the new environment
to the end users as well as support
staff. It would reduce time, cost and
enhance existing staff skills. |

Provision
of information on the web about forms,
maps, traffic deadlocks, license status
etc. complaints about Directorate of
Transport /Traffic Police can be lodged
through website. It would make the process
transparent and clear. |
| The
Project was practically launched in
April, 2005 after release of Rs. 1.500
Millions by Finance Department NWFP
for the first half of financial year
2005-06. Since total allocation for
the current year was Rs. 3.000 Millions,
rest of Rs. 1.500 Millions has also
been released by finance Department
for second half of the financial year.
The tenders were floated in the leading
National Dailies for the Software application
on 15th December 2005. The tenders received
in the Directorate of IT, NWFP had been
opened on 03-01-2006. Similarly, advertisement
for recruitment of project staff has
been floated in the news papers. The
applications received in the Directorate
of IT are scrutinized and call letters
issued accordingly.
