Introduction
It was an ADP Project approved by the
DDWP on 26/03/2005 at a total cost of
Rs. 29.206 Millions.

Objectives
of the Project |

Recruit
40 properly qualified IT Teacher in
Secondary, higher secondary Schools
in NWFP for providing quality education
of computer science and IT at the levels
of class IX, X, XI & XII. |

Equip
40 selected Secondary, higher secondary
schools with the computer labs. |

Raise
the standard of teaching in computer
science in the government’s high
schools. |
| |
Provide
employment opportunities to the selected
youth in NWFP in subjects relating to
computer science/IT. |

Create
enabling environment in educational
institutions for the teaching of computer
science at the grass root level. This
will in turn ensure a steady supply
of experts/ skilled staff conversant
in IT, and related subjects to the institutions
of higher learning. |

Help
in identifying students with aptitude
for IT learning during relatively early
years of their education. This will
offer better opportunities to the nation
to select the best talent amongst a
large population base. Proper investment
in the talented individuals will help
Pakistan to make advancement in the
field of IT and other disciplines. |

Modules can be added according to the
needs of Provincial Assembly. |

The Project was practically
launched in April, 2005 after release
of Rs. 4.000 Millions by Finance Department
NWFP for the first half of financial
year 2005-06.
The total allocation for the current
year was Rs. 8.000 Million, rest of
Rs. 4.000 Million has also been released
by finance Department for second half
of the financial year.
14 Schools had been selected for establishment
of one computer lab per school. The
tenders had been floated in the leading
National Dailies for the purchase of
Hardware and allied accessories on 3rd
January, 2006. The successful bidders
have been asked to complete procurements
in time.
