Proceedings upto date:-
CoPT (Computerization of Property Tax Records) is currently launched from the platform of Peshawar region. It is currently divided into two major zones ETO II & ETO III. The Data entry was given to an Islamabad based Firm by the name of M/s SEC (Socio Engineering Consultants) Pvt. Ltd. Web based software application was developed by a Lahore based Firm by the name of M/s Acrologix Pvt. Ltd. Data entry for Peshawar region is completed and it is in a phase of validation . Currently there is a project staff of two personnel’s from Directorate of IT (Network Administrator and Data base Administrator). There are about Ninety five thousand demands which are stored in the Web application data base and inspectors from E & T Department are cross checking the data for validation purpose.
As soon as this task is over Data entry Firm will be visiting sixteen districts of NWFP as Property Tax is only applicable in sixteen districts of NWFP against total of twenty four districts. Once Data base be completed, a transparent & error free Computerized Property Tax Challens will be issued to people & the best thing would be that they can access their tax returns on internet making them believe on a transparent Tax calculation procedures
