Project Brief

E-Government is one of the major initiatives under the present IT policy and Action Plan. To pursue this initiative, the Government of NWFP is undertaking a large number of projects in different areas. One of its main project is to computerized the existing manual system in Schools and Literacy department. For this purpose the ST & IT has initiate a project named as “System Analysis and Re-engineering of Teachers Recruitment and staff Promotion for Schools and Literacy Department”
It’s an Internet/web based project

Objectives & Achievements so far

The main objective of the project is to study, design, develop and implement a comprehensive software solution for Teachers Recruitment and Staff Promotion in Schools & Literacy Department and also.

Achievements So far

• Hardware has been Purchased
• Software for the said project has been developed
• Server room is allocated in Schools and Literacy Department

Benefits

1) To computerize, transform the existing manual system of staff promotion and recruitment.

2) To reduce the number of manpower hours required for searching of data and information.

3) To introduce the concept of E-governance as per policy of the Federal and Provincial Government.

4) To introduce new and more effective management tools and modernize the School & Literacy department to meet the challenges of an ever-changing society.

5) Districts Education officers will be able to send their data to the main office with secure web access.

6) The software will be capable to Integrate with the EMIS database (currently implemented in S&L department)

7) The Software will easily upgraded by adding other modules in future.

Project Budget and Duration

The project was approved from DDWP on dated 15th October 2005 to 15th October 2007 for two years. Now this project is further extended for next three years Dated 13th November 2010, the budget for the project is Rs: 6.88 Millions
