Activities
of N.W.F.P Benevolent Fund Board
The Benevolent Fund Scheme
was introduced in 1972 to extend financial
assistance out of Benevolent Fund to all categories
of Provincial Government servants under the
provision of N.W.F.P. Benevolent Fund Order
1972.
Following are the rates of
contribution towards N.W.F.P Benevolent Fund

The cases of employees in
BS-16 and above are dealt with by the provincial
benevolent fund board and the cases of the
Non-Gazetted Government servants (BS-01 to
BS-05) serving in Attached Departments are
being dealt with by the District Benevolent
Fund Boards. Cases of secretariat employees
are dealt in the Secretariat Benevolent
Following financial assistance have been extended
to the widows 1 dependent of deceased
Government servants and invalid Government
servants as well as serving Government servants:
A
.Monthly Grant
Monthly Grant is admissible
out of Benevolent Fund @ RS.1000/- P.M.
for BS-16 and above and RS.500/- P.M.
for BS-01 to BS-15 for a period of 15 years.
Payment is made by the District Benevolent
Fund Boards to the Employees of Attached Departments
serving in BS-01 to BS-15.

The cases of Secretariat Employees of all
categories are dealt with by the Secretariat
Benevolent Fund Board and Benevolent Fund
cases of Gazetted Employees of Provincial
Government across the province are dealt with
by the Provincial Benevolent Fund Board.
Funeral charges from the
Benevolent Fund are also granted at the rate
of Rs.3000/-, in case of self death
as well as death of Non-Gazetted Government
servants family members wholly dependent
upon him her. This grant is admissible to
the Non-Gazetted Government Servants Serving
in BS-01 to BS- 15.
B.
ANNUAL EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP
Educational
scholarship granted to the children of in
service Government servants after fulfilling
the condition of obtaining 50% marks in the
last annual examination. The rates are as
follow:-
(* upto maximum 3 children)
Rs.500/-
OR
- College going children (* One child
only)
Rs.1200/-
- Post Graduate/Professional Colleges
(* One child only)
Rs.1500/-
*- No such restriction
applies in case of wards of deceased or invalided
Government servants.
C. MERIT SCHOLARSHIP
SCHEME
The Merit Scholarship Scheme is made effective
from the academic year 2003.Top ten positions
holders in the Board and University examination
amongst the children of the Government servants
scoring not less than Ist Division are entitled
for the Merit Scholarship at the following
rates:-

The eligibility for the Merit
Scholarship:
a. Top ten position holders in Board / University
exams amongst the
Children of Government servants shall be eligible
for the grant of Merit Scholarship scoring
not less than 1st Division.
b. The grantee who avail Regular Scholarship
from Benevolent Fund or any other scholarship
from any other Organization / Institute will
not be eligible for the Merit Scholarship.
c. Government servants, who are contributing
towards N.W.F.P Benevolent Fund Board are
eligible for the grant
of Merit Scholarship.
d. The scholarship application
forms shall be verified from the Head of Institution
and submitted through the head of Department
concerned
All the provincial Government
employees, who are contributing towards the
N.W.F.P, Benevolent Fund Boards can apply
on the prescribed form.
D.
Allotment of Plots
A scheme for the allotment of plots to the
retired Government servants in various township
schemes was introduced in 1989. Plots are
allotted to the widows of deceased Government
servants as well as to the retired Government
servants in their respective Districts subject
to the condition to availability of plots.
The Physical Planning & Housing Department
N.W.F.P. allocated 5% quota in these townships
as under:
1 Hayatabad Township Scheme
Peshawar
2 Shiekh Maltoon Township Scheme Mardan
3 Shah Mansoor Township Scheme Swabi
4 Gazikot Township Scheme Hazara
5 Kanjo Township Scheme Swat.
6 Bannu Township Scheme.
7 Dera Township Scheme.
8 Kohat Township Scheme.
9 Karak Township Scheme.
Plots are allotted to the widows of deceased
Government servants free of cost, whereas
cost of land and development charges only
are recovered from retired Government servants
in 60 equal installments. So far more than
600 plots to various categories of Government
servants have been allotted by Benevolent
Fund Cell.
E.
ALLOTMENT OF PLOTS IN REGI MODEL TOWNSHIP
SCHEME
The Provincial Benevolent
Fund Board has purchased 9631 plots of various
categories from City Development & Municipal
Department and subsequently these plots have
been allotted to the Government servants through
draw to the Government employees serving across
the province. Allotment Orders have been issued
by the City Development & Municipal Department
to all those allottees who have deposited
their Down Payment.
F.
LOAN / ADVANCES OUT OF BENEVOLENT FUND
The Loan Scheme for the Provincial Government
employees has been approved by the Board in
its meeting held on 9/7/2004. Accordingly
all Government Department / Offices have been
informed about the introduction of the new
scheme. Desirous Government employees have
been asked to apply on the prescribed form
and till now more than 11000 applications
have been received.
G.
HAJJ SCHEME
The Benevolent Fund Board
has extended the facility of performing of
Hajj out of Benevolent Fund to the ten (10)
Provincial Government employees through draw.
Applicants are required to submit Rs.100/-
with their application form as processing
fee along with affidavit on Stamp Paper stating
therein that the Government Servant has not
yet performed the Hajj from any Government
Sponsored Scheme or on own expenses and he

Hajj by their own,
